16/8/2017 Last chance for Club Challenge Entries

Clubs have been a last chance to get their side entered for the 2017 Bowls NSW Club Challenge. Entries will now be accepted until Tuesday 19 September.

This gives clubs a last chance to have their players say “yes’ we are up to the challenge” over the weekend.

Inter-Club competition is held by many to be the pinnacle of their bowls year, the Club Challenge is designed to give players an opportunity to pull on their club colours and battle against their neighbours in friendly atmosphere. To many clubs and bowlers, Pennants is the 'blue ribbon' event of the year. Club Challenge is designed to be a vibrant and healthy complementary competition, not only to give those Pennant bowlers an additional opportunity but to also open up club representation to others.

In 2017 the Club Challenge features sides of six players, one singles player one pairs team and one triples team. The side to win two (or more) of the games will win the clash between the sides.

Sides will play in sections, with three rounds to be played on Saturday 14 October. Singles will play 21 shots up, pairs (3 bowls per player) and triples (2 bowls per player) 14 ends.

To cater for everyone, there are Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Divisions catering for different skill levels (based on players’ pennant grades).

The best performed sides progress to the post-sectional phase on 15 October and then regional finals on 11-12 November and ultimately the State Finals series on 2-3 December – sponsored and hosted by Warilla Bowling Club.
