2009 was agreat year for the challenge, with over 270 sides entered, culminating in a sensational State Finals Series. (Click here to view the results of the 2009 State Finals)
The Bowls NSW Club Challenge pits sides of seven club based bowlers up each against each other in singles, pairs and fours with points allocated in each match based on rinks won. In knockout play the side to win two of the three contests wins the match.
The format has been very well received by competitors, with feedback about the competition being overwhelmingly positive. feedback from competing clubs and players has been used to review the Conditions of Play, with some positive suggestions being incorporated for 2010. Clubs may enter as many sides as they wish in the six divisions being contested. There are three Men's, two Women's and a Mixed Division. The Silver and Blue Divisions are restricted to players from lower Pennant grades, ensuring players have the opportunity to play against others of similar abilities.

Sides are arranged into local sections, playing up to six round robin matches to determine a section winner that will progress to the knockout regional finals, ultimately reaching the final four and progressing to the State Finals.
Sides reaching the State Finals will receive prize money, and sides contesting the State finals who have greater than 150km to travel will receive some travel assistance.
In 2009, the prize money was $200 for defeated Semi Finalists, $400 for Runners Up and $750 for State Champions. The assistance for sides travelling was $500 for between 150 and 300km and $750 for over 300km. The total prize money and assistance for 2010 will be dependent on entries.
The entry fee for each side is $77.
The 2010 State Finals series will be held at Warilla Bowling Club on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 December. Warilla Bowling Club is a magnificent club boasting two sensational tift dwarf greens, two synthetic greens and an 8 rink indoor green.
